Scholarships Available for Hindu Studies Summer Courses


Scholarships of $250 are available for the first 32 students who register for Hindu Studies courses this summer at the New Brunswick campus. Choose from courses such as: Hindu Philosophy; Hinduism through its Arts, Legends, Mystics, and Yogi; and Hinduism - Engagement with the Modern World. High school students who will complete their sophomore or junior year this June may register by downloading the high school application form. For more information about these courses and instructors, you can visit summersession.rutgers.edu or call the Summer Session Office at 732/932-7565.

Glee Club

University Glee Club Joins Voices with International Choirs


From its roots in performing collegiate songs, the Rutgers University Glee Club has been heard "on the banks of the old Raritan" for more than 130 years. New Media Lab Waltzes onto Campus Scene


Imagine being able to do anything from making a documentary to performing and recording a new, modern dance step all at the same location. The Sharon A. Fordham Multimedia Resource Laboratory at the Mabel Smith Douglass Library has made all this possible.

With new Mac Pro desktops that include the newest technologies and 30-inch screens, students will be able to create original pieces using multimedia, including word processing, a dance floor where they can videotape their choreography, audio recording equipment and graphic design programs. (Excerpted from the Rutgers Daily Targum) More

Professor Eileen Blumental finds that puppets are a refreshing change for her theater arts students, whose intellectual training is in realism. "Puppetry is non-real, and yet it is absolutely true," she says. More

Tom Montille, a professor in the Department of Food Science, hopes to raise $38,000 for Elijah's Promise, a New Brunswick-based soup kitchen, with his participation in a projected 52-day-long trip from California to New Hampshire. More

Two Rutgers students were recently named Goldwater Scholars, a national honor that recognizes excellence in science, math, and engineering. Both are juniors who are among 321 sophomores and juniors nationwide to receive scholarships this year. More

More than 700 students relived a favorite childhood television series as they dressed as Michelangelo, Leonardo, Raphael or Donatello in a successful attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the Largest Gathering of People Dressed as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
