December 1 Priority Date Reminder
Our priority application date for fall first-year students is quickly approaching. In order to ensure full consideration at all of their school choices, your students should submit their applications and all necessary credentials by December 1. Students whose files are complete by the priority date will be considered at all of their school choices and for merit-based scholarships (if they submit their essay with their application). All priority applicants will be notified of our decision by February 28.

Letters of Recommendation
It is not necessary to submit letters of recommendation on behalf of your students. Our application provides multiple opportunities for applicants to describe their accomplishments, activities, community service, and personal experiences. Most letters of recommendation provide information that can be obtained from our students' application responses and academic records. While we take a holistic review of a student's entire application, we put primary emphasis on academic performance.

Self-Reported Academic Record (SRAR)
Please continue encouraging your students to complete the Self-Reported Academic Record (SRAR). Students who complete a SRAR should not send an interim transcript prior to graduation. Quarterly and mid-year transcripts should not be sent unless requested by the admissions office. You can access the form from our counselors' website. The site will also indicate whether or not your students’ SRARs have been received. Preview the SRAR here.

Rutgers and Barnes & Noble Form New Partnership
Book signings, poetry readings, university and community lectures, and musical performances are just a taste of what’s in store at the Barnes & Noble at Rutgers superstore slated to begin construction in early 2009. Adjacent to the New Brunswick Train Station, the three-story, 46,000 square-foot superstore will be a destination in itself. "It will be a place for readings by renowned authors who can just hop off the train from New York or Philadelphia,” said President McCormick. More
