The chart below indicates the SAT scores and rank ranges for the middle 50% of those high school students admitted to Rutgers for fall 2008. 

25% of our admitted students had ranks and scores below these ranges, and 25% of our admitted students had ranks and scores above these ranges.

We encourage all interested students to apply because we conduct a holistic review of each student's application that takes into consideration many more factors than test scores and high school rank. (See How We Make Decisions.)

First-Year Students Admitted to New Brunswick for Fall 2008
  • 48% were in the top 10% of their graduating class.
  • 89% were in the top 25% of their graduating class.
  • The top 1000 had mean combined critical reading and math SAT scores of more than 1400.
  • More than 200 students were valedictorians or salutatorians.
